Home/domestic/residential water softener
Product Name: Water Softener Purifier
Introduction:
Hard water is not considered unhealthy, but hard water problems end up costing you money through increased soap usage, build up of calcium scale in your pipes, and shortening the life of your appliances.
The most common minerals dissolved in household water are calcium and magnesium, although other minerals may certainly be present as well. These substances can cause serious problems for home appliances when they precipitate out, forming a characteristic scale that may accumulate in pipes and around faucets. If the scale is not promptly removed, it can start to clog pipes and can damage things like water heaters and dishwashers, which cannot cope with the minerals.
The softener resin tank contains the treated ion exchange resin - small beads of polystyrene. The resin beads initially adsorb sodium ions during regeneration. The resin has a greater affinity for
multi-valent ions such as calcium and magnesium than it does for sodium. Thus, when the hard water containing the Calcium and Magnesium Ions is passed through the resin bed, the calcium and magnesium ions adhere to the resin, releasing the sodium ions until equilibrium is reached. The water softener has exchanged its sodium ions for the calcium and magnesium ions in the water.
Why Soft Water is Better
Water hardness is actually dissolved rock! Calcium and Magnesium can cause
scale build-up in pipes and hot water tanks, and cause laundry to come out
stiff and gray. When iron is present, sinks, fixtures and clothes can be
stained or ruined. It takes more energy and cost to heat hard water, plus
you can use twice the amount of soaps, detergents, shampoos and related
products compared to soft water.
Soft water can prevent soap build up and can give skin and hair a silky look
and feel. Clothes are brighter and last longer without deposits trapped in
their fabric. Water pipes and appliances run more efficiently without scaling.

What do water softeners do?
Water softening is an Ion Exchange Process. The hardness minerals are "exchanged" replaced
with sodium(Na+) ions.
Water softeners are installed to remove the hardness minerals (calcium and magnesium) and iron from the water. These minerals can form a scale and will cause problems in plumbing systems, water heaters, coffee makers, washing machines, dishwashers, etc. The iron is what sometimes causes the orange or reddish stains concrete and sides of houses. Water softening systems range in size and need to be installed to accommodate the requirements of the household. This system requires having only one pump, one tank, and water softener tank, brine tank and an area for the system to drain after the regeneration process is completed.
What Difference Does A Softener Make?
Water softeners eliminate calcium, magnesium, sulfur, iron, lead and limestone resulting in:
No more calcium staining.
No more soap scum in fixtures & appliances.
Clothes are softer and cleaner.
Dishes will be clean and spot free.
Skin will be softer.
Appliances will last 45% longer - Hot Water Heaters, Dishwashers, Washing Machines and Kettles.
